Call Me Marty

Hello. My name is Marty and I live in Chicago, IL with my wife and two dogs. I use standards-based technologies to build presences for the web, mobile, and desktop. I also enjoy blogging, grilling, hiking, and running (currently in training for the 2009 Chicago Marathon).

Experience

I first became interested in design at the age of 12, when I published and distributed a self-created manga 'zine using Microsoft Publisher 3.0. This kicked off an intense curiuosity in the publishing power of the computer platform, and I began studying programming languages such as Visual Basic and advanced C++ throughout high school. In the 15 years since then i've picked up programming in Java, HTML, CSS, and PHP and continue to use these tools to build. You can check out the Design and Develop sections of this site for some examples of my work in both design and development, respectively.
